Juror postal survey report
Asking users about the service they have experienced and how it could be improved is fundamental to improving public service delivery. The juror survey runs alongside the three-year customer satisfaction survey run for court users across all courts in England and Wales. You may be contacted by IPSOS Mori following your jury service with a postal survey asking you about your experience at court whilst on jury service. Results from 2008 surveyA sample of 3,042 jurors who served in February 2008 were sent a postal survey asking them about their experiences of jury service. The response rate was 1,244 (41%) completed surveys. In 2007 the response rate was 40%. The results from the survey show the level of satisfaction with the service received both before and during jury service is high:
Annual Juror Survey 2009The annual juror survey for 2009 was issued on 12 March 2009 to 3,049 jurors who served in the month of February 2009 at Crown Courts across England and Wales. This year to help encourage a greater response from the jurors, a reminder survey was issued three weeks after the initial survey at no extra cost. The response rate was 55 per cent (1,678 responses were received) which is a fourteen percentage point increase in response rate on the 2008 survey. The response rate results from the survey show that the levels of satisfaction with the service received both before and during jury service has improved compared to 2008.
