The court you apply to

If you apply You apply to
for an order during a divorce the county court which is dealing with the divorce.
for an order where there is not a divorce case your nearest family proceedings court or divorce county court. But if you have received a Notice of Proceedings, form C6, apply to the court on that Notice.
for leave to apply for an order ('Leave' is explained in booklet 1) your nearest family proceedings court or divorce county court. But if you have received a Notice of Proceedings, form C6, apply to the court on that Notice.
for an order to be changed or ended the court which made the order.
to be joined as a 'party' (for instance, if you have a Notice of Proceedings, form C6A, and you want to apply for an order).

the court which is on the Notice of Proceedings, form C6A.
Transfer The court to which you apply will usually deal with your case. However, sometimes a court decides a case should be dealt with by another court and the case is transferred there. If you think your case should be transferred, you will be able to tell the court at the first hearing.
