How can I get information and advice?
You can get advice and more information about adoption (and about possible alternatives to adoption, such as step-parental responsibility orders or special guardianship orders) from:
- your local authority;
- an approved adoption agency;
- a solicitor;
- a Citizens Advice Bureau;
- or a law centre or legal advice centre.
Leaflets CB1 - Children and the family courts and CB4 - Special Guardianship – a guide for court users, also give more information.
