Notice to all Commercial and Admiralty Court users
Commercial Court I.T. (C.C.I.T.) Project
Some of you may already be aware of the proposed introduction of a new IT system in the Commercial Court.
The project is intended to modernise the administrative systems of the Admiralty and Commercial Courts by providing a dedicated, electronic based system which will improve the current largely paper-based processes. The main benefits of the system include:
- Giving the Court the ability to accept and store documents electronically;
- Providing a streamlined, pro-active case management system;
- Providing an electronic diary facility for greater and more effective control of all hearings and lists; and
- Allowing the Daily Cause List to be produced electronically
These improvements will collectively enhance the level of service to the court's customers by streamlining many of the current court processes.
We are approaching a critical time in the project when the system will be subject to substantial testing by the court staff. Staff will also complete a period of training. Whilst we will do everything we can to ensure that these activities do not impose upon the normal operation of the court offices, it is possible that there may be a period of disruption which could potentially affect the usual high standards of service that our customers have come to expect. This might also be the case whilst the new system is bedding down in the weeks after its introduction.
Should the efficient conduct of your business with the Court be affected, please contact me in the first instance.
