Criminal Results Online

Criminal Results Online

Welcome to the Prototype of the Criminal Results On-Line website. This prototype supports consultation in the Green Paper Engaging Communities in Criminal Justice on the way in which the outcome of criminal court cases can best be publicised to people affected by crime and disorder in their communities, and is the first step in the Government's commitment to open up the criminal justice system through the power of the internet.

When fully operational this website will include the final outcome of all adult criminal cases in England and Wales (except where there is a reporting restriction to stop this).

This Prototype uses dummy data which is fictitious and has been specially created to give users a feel of the information that will be provided and the processes involved. It is intended that during the consultation period this dummy data will be replaced with anonymised real data on a small range of crimes heard in the Magistrates' Courts.

Your comments on the site, the type of information to be included and the accessibility of the information, either via the Green Paper consultation routes or in the feedback pages on this website will help us in the design of the fully-functioning website.

To provide appropriate safeguards for personal information it is proposed that on access to the fully functioning website users would be required to register using their name, address and a verifiable email address. Your thoughts on whether this would discourage you from accessing the site are invited through the Green Paper consultation process.

To make access to this prototype easier a default user has been created. To log in (if the details have not already appeared) please use the details contained in the User details box below. This can be copied and pasted.
