Practice Directions

Chancery Division Practice: Royal Courts of Justice

With effect from Tuesday 11th January 2000 all company matters, traditionally listed for hearing by the Companies Judge on a Monday may in future be issued for hearing on any day of the week during term time. A Companies Judge will no longer be designated to deal with company matters. The Applications Judge hearing general Chancery applications will also deal with the company matters previously listed for hearing on Mondays. Any urgent Company application will also be dealt with by the Applications Judge.

The issue of such Company matters and the formulation of the list each day will be undertaken by the Clerk of the Lists General Office in Room W.11 (Telephone 0171-936-6816).

This Practice Statement supersedes any previous Practice Directions relating to the Companies Monday List. The Chancery Guide will be amended to reflect the above changes in due course.

Issued by direction of the Vice-Chancellor
Date: 17th December 1999
