A new website has been launched for the Court of Appeal (Civil Division), designed to provide online information and services for civil appeals: http://www.civilappeals.gov.uk/.

The revised website was announced by the Master of the Rolls, Lord Phillips of Matravers, and includes new features such as an interactive guide to the different routes of appeal.

Lord Justice Brooke, Vice-President of the Court of Appeal (Civil Division), said:

"The new website is designed to help people find out more about the work of the civil Court of Appeal, whatever their interest – whether as a party, lawyer, journalist, law student or interested member of the public. We are conscious that the workings of the appeal court are not always apparent – for example we explain the court fees and the time limits involved in making a civil appeal amongst the many answers to questions on the site".

"We also have easy links to a database of the most interesting and significant cases recently determined by the court. And we have some details about the Appeal Judges who will be sitting on cases. We hope that people will find it of use. This marks a great step forward for court websites in this country. We are very keen to increase its usefulness in future."

Some of the new information that may be found on the site includes:

In the near future we shall be adding an electronic Court list, showing up-to-date listing arrangements.
