The Presiding Judges direct that as from Monday, 5 May 1975, the following practice for the formal opening and closing of sittings of Crown Courts shall be put into effect:

When the Crown Court is presided over by a Circuit Judge, Recorder or Deputy Circuit Judge the court shall be opened each day by the Court Clerk using the following words -

"All persons having anything to do before Her Majesty's Crown Court draw near and give your attendance."

At the conclusion of the business for the day the Court Clerk should say -

"All persons having anything further to do before Her Majesty's Crown Court may now depart hence and give your attendance at 10.30 tomorrow morning. God save the Queen."

At a court presided over by a High Court Judge it is the responsibility of the Judge's Clerk to open the court by using the following words -

"All persons having anything to do before My Lords the Queen's Justices draw near and give your attendance."

At the conclusion of the day's business the Judge's Clerk should say -

"All persons having anything further to do before My Lords the Queen's Justices may now depart hence and give your attendance at 10.30 tomorrow morning. God save the Queen and My Lords the Queen's Justices."
