Bankruptcy Court Advice Desk
Part of the Royal Courts of Justice Advice Bureau the advice desk provides free, independent and confidential advice including:
- The implications of bankruptcy
- Checking completed debtors' petition forms
- Assistance with the completion of debtors' petition forms (arranged by appointment)
Advice for clients being petitioned for bankruptcy on:
- Setting aside statutory demands
- Negotiating settlements with creditors
- The possibility of adjourning proceedings to see further advice or assistance.
Advice for clients who have been made bankrupt on:
- Income payment orders/agreements
- Bankruptcy restriction orders
- The possibility of annulling an bankruptcy order
Advisors see clients on a 'first come, first served' basis.
