Derby Magistrates' Court Open Day 18th June
An open day will be held at Derby Magistrates' Court on Saturday 18th June, from 10.30 to 3.30 pm. There will be mock Crown Courts and 'Ask the Judge' sessions held during the morning. A Schools Mock Trial Competition will be held during the afternoon. Throughout the day there will be presentations from all criminal justice agencies, tours of the cells, magistrates' mock courts, a childrens quiz and face painting. All are welcome and admission is free.

Guidance on disclosing information about Family Proceedings involving children which are heard in private
From 31 October the Family Proceedings (Amendment No 4) Rules 2005 and the Family Proceedings Courts (Miscellaneous Amendments) Rules 2005 come into force. These rules will allow parties and other specified people to disclose certain information from family proceedings heard in private involving children, to other specified people for specific purposes, without needing the permission of the court. The rules do not apply to disclosure in adoption proceedings where different rules apply. A guidance leaflet is now available.
